OUR STORY

Combine the experience and sophistication of a big agency and the high-touch collaboration and focus of a small firm, and the result is Greenough Communications.

After ten years working with Fortune 100 leaders and five years managing one of the country's largest PR agencies, founder Phil Greenough had experienced first-hand both successes and failures in dozens of client-agency collaborations. Despite the high points, Phil was plagued by the distinct disconnect between strategic planning and creative execution, and the failure to deliver on what was promised, which ultimately resulted in unsatisfied clients and lackluster results.

Greenough Communications was born out of the desire to tap into the best aspects of world-class PR and marketing programs, and the desire to bring a higher level of accountability, intensity and innovation to the PR playing field. In short, the agency was founded on the simple idea that the relentless pursuit of results helps make clients successful.

To bring this vision to life, Greenough assembled the right leadership: possessing the skills, experience and competitiveness that are core to a world-class consulting organization.

Second, the newly built executive team made a conscious decision to create a culture based on trust and integrity. In an effort to avoid getting mired in the politics and pursuit of individual goals at the expense of the client or other team members, Greenough's executive team created a working environment that stressed supportive accountability. Our people and teams make commitments, and the entire company works in unison to ensure we deliver on these commitments.

The leadership team at Greenough didn't want to be just a trade media shop although today our trade media capabilities are second to none. Nor did the management want to focus solely on the business and financial media though Greenough is widely acclaimed for its relationships with the broadcast bookers and national business media. Most importantly, Greenough didn't want clients to have to choose between getting meaningful results and getting sound strategy from their agency partners. Instead, Greenough set out to be distinctive through its approach to planning, known for its ability to deliver meaningful results, respected for its pursuit of client satisfaction, and emulated in its creative program execution.

Today, the same principles that the company was built upon still apply. In particular, Greenough's "Play to Win" mantra captures our approach and permeates the company's culture. At Greenough, highly motivated individuals are passionate about doing great work. They actively contribute to our company's success, and they work tirelessly to get the right results for our clients. By joining a team that is built on trust, respect and supportive accountability, our employees have found an environment where individual talents and teamwork flourishes.

While we have realized many successes over the years, including being named "Agency of the Year" by internationally known industry analyst, Paul Holmes, and runner up for PR Week's “Mid-size Agency of the Year,” we never rest on our laurels. To remain true to our ideals and continue to offer clients the best work and results, we commit to a bi-annual client satisfaction surveys. One of the country’s most comprehensive, our feedback system not only gives us clear performance benchmarks, but also arms us with the vital information our teams need to set new records of success.

Now entering its sixth year, Greenough Communications is still living up to its original vision. Greenough combines the best elements of world-class PR and marketing programs with the high-touch collaboration and focus of a dedicated team to anticipate clients' needs and delivers on its commitments.

“Very high marks for you guys across the board… brilliant, creative, and tremendously good team players. I've recommended you to other divisions and for the company IR and PR as well - that should hopefully be a clear sign that we are happy you're our team!”
