Greenough Kicks Off PR Campaign with Quick Hit

“Freemium” Online Sports Gaming Company Signs Greenough to Help Raise Awareness and Build Brand

Boston, MA, June 22, 2009 Greenough Communications, a leading independent public relations firm with offices in Boston and Silicon Valley, announced today it strengthened its consumer technology and gaming practice with the addition of Quick Hit, Inc. (“Quick Hit”). A leading developer and publisher of premium, free-to-play online sports games, Quick Hit selected Greenough to build awareness among gamers, sports fans and sponsors for its first game, Quick Hit Football, prior to its release in September.

Quick Hit Football is a free-to-play, browser-based football game founded by industry veteran Jeffrey Anderson, former CEO of Turbine. Rather than twitch-style game play, Quick Hit Football players are cast into the role of coach and asked to use their knowledge of football to call the plays and make strategic choices. The game features long-time Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher, who offers players in-game advice as well as coaching tips and football strategy. Quick Hit Football expects to include other coaches in the future to give users a variety of different styles against which to test their skills. Just like a true athlete gets better with training, users can also improve their teams and advance their players as a reward for persistent game play.

“Selecting Greenough as our PR partner was a smart play,” said Anderson, founder and CEO of Quick Hit. “Greenough has the right combination of gaming experience, media relations savvy, and social media expertise to creatively tell our story and help us build a community of early followers. In just a few months, we’ve seen results in terms of coverage and, more importantly, registrations for the game.”

“We live to partner with companies that disrupt markets, and Quick Hit fits that bill exactly,” said Phil Greenough, founder and president of Greenough Communications. “Jeff Anderson is a visionary industry leader, who has assembled a team that will change the playing field by offering an authentic football experience that’s free to play. With Quick Hit already leading the conversation, our mission now is simple: sign up users.”
