TEAM - Phil Greenough, President
Phil Greenough is founder and president of Greenough Communications. A public relations and marketing executive with more than 20 years of technology marketing and communications experience in corporate and consulting environments, Phil has worked with companies ranging from global leaders like IBM and General Motors to emerging start-ups like Avaki and Connected. Phil takes an integrated approach to marketing and communications, and believes that a company achieves its business success through focused planning, flawless execution, continuous creativity and non-stop improvement.
Prior to launching Greenough Communications, Phil was executive vice president of The Weber Group (now part of Weber Shandwick Worldwide), where he oversaw the Eastern U.S. region for one of the world's leading public relations agencies. Previously, Phil held various marketing and communication positions during more than a decade at IBM and Lotus. During his career, Phil managed teams that captured more than two dozen industry excellence awards, including CIPRA awards for brand building and financial crisis counseling, as well as a Bronze Anvil from the PRSA. Phil is a published author, including a chapter called "Storytelling Builds Brands," written for the recently published book, The Art of Building a Brand, Leading Marketing Visionaries Reveal the Secrets for Companies of All Sizes to Build Successful Brands (Aspatore Books, 2002)
Phil began his career as a writing and English teacher. During that time, he also was a freelance journalist. Phil received a bachelor's degree in English from Hamilton College, where he was captain and quarterback of the football team.
